Located in Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian province in China, this factory is the pinnacle of modern engineering. Here, every 100 seconds, a brand-new Jetour vehicle rolls off the line. That’s right! One car every 100 seconds. Thanks to an advanced network of robotics, the plant runs with minimal human intervention, earning its “dark” moniker as operations often continue without the need for lights.
The Fuzhou Factory isn’t just about speed, it’s about precision. The entire manufacturing process, from stamping to final assembly, is handled with robotic accuracy. In the welding area alone, every weld point is performed by automated arms, ensuring strength, consistency, and safety across every model.
Sustainable And Smart
Jetour has made it a mission to build responsibly. At the Fuzhou Factory, sustainability plays a central role. The plant uses renewable energy sources, optimises water usage, and implements smart waste reduction and recycling practices. It’s a future-forward facility that balances high output with eco-conscious practices.
Energy-saving coatings, AI-powered logistics, and water-saving solutions are all built into the system. This ensures that while we deliver quality to customers, we’re also contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable future.
A Brain Behind The Brawn
The magic behind the Dark Factory isn’t just in the machines, but in the intelligence that drives them. Big data and AI power a “smart brain” that continuously monitors and manages quality control throughout every phase of production.
Jetour follows a “0+3” manufacturing philosophy: zero defects, 100% error-proof assembly, 100% qualified inspection, and full traceability. This means every Jetour vehicle you see on the road has been inspected, validated, and tracked for quality from start to finish.
Flexible And Ready For The Future
What makes the Fuzhou Factory especially impressive is its flexibility. With multi-model production capacity, the plant can build four different models across two platforms at any given time. That’s how Jetour keeps up with customer demand while ensuring quality across every model.
Programmed robots in the painting facility complete 18 tasks per hour, averaging just 200 seconds per vehicle. Unmanned tyre installation and advanced windshield bonding ensure precision and reduce noise while improving waterproofing.
Meanwhile, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and guided vehicles (AGVs) manage internal logistics, moving parts around the factory floor with pinpoint efficiency. It’s a ballet of machines, working in sync to get the job done fast and flawlessly.
Big Plans In Motion
Currently, the Fuzhou Factory can produce up to 200,000 vehicles annually, but expansion plans are already in the works to double that figure to 400,000. And it’s no surprise, considering Jetour’s global momentum. Since launching in 2018, Jetour has sold over 1.46 million vehicles across 62 countries. Locally, we’ve proudly sold over 1,500 units in South Africa since launching here in September last year.
And it doesn’t stop there. Alongside local favourites like the Jetour Dashing and X70 Plus, the factory will soon be producing eight new products. These include new additions to the urban SUV range, off-road models, and pickups.
Jetour is also moving steadily towards hybrid electric innovation. Our hybrid off-road SUVs are currently in development and will soon roll out across international markets, positioning Jetour as a global leader in the hybrid SUV space.
